Main Bleacher General Admission Seating is unassigned, festival atmosphere, bleacher-seating. It runs parallel to the length of the pool offering an unobstructed view of the entire 50 meter course.

Gold Medal Preferred Seating is elevated, assigned seating in chairs constructed behind the starting blocks. Gold Medal ticket holders also gain access to our VIP Hospitality Area just outside of the venue near the Athlete Zone. The VIP Hospitality Area offers relaxation, light complimentary refreshments, and remote viewing of the event.

MCAC Seating

All orders will be held at the Tickets/Will Call Booth on the grounds of the Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center and will be available for pick up beginning Thursday, May 14, 2015. Show your receipt as proof of purchase.

History

Since 1985, SwimMAC Carolina has been proud to host the SwimMAC’s Arena Pro Swim Series at Charlotte (formerly the Charlotte UltraSwim and the Grand Prix at Charlotte). John WilsonThrough the combined efforts of USA Swimming, USA Swimming Officials, dedicated SwimMAC Coaches and volunteers, talented athletes, and corporate sponsors this meet has grown exponentially in attendance and expectations.

SwimMAC has been fortunate to have several loyal corporate partners which have afforded SwimMAC the opportunity to showcase “World Class” swimming in our own “World Class City”.

An outstanding field of competitors will descend on Charlotte from May 15-18, 2014.  We look forward to watching National Champions and Olympians from the USA and other countries, the best college teams, and some of the most accomplished high school athletes dive into Charlotte’s waters.  They have set their sights on Rio, and we set our sights on them!

Christy KowalOver the last 29 years The SwimMAC Charlotte Grand Prix has been privileged to host more than 10,000 athletes, including more than 130 Olympians, and more than 50 Olympic Gold Medalist. “Madam Butterfly” Mary T. Meagher, was the first Olympic Gold Medalist to race here in 1988, and since then some of swimming’s most recognizable names have challenged Charlotte’s waters: Gary Hall Jr., Janet Evans, Pablo Morales, Summer Sanders, Ryan Lochte, Katie Hoff, Dara Torres, Natalie Coughlin, Aaron Piersol, and Michael Phelps, just to name a few. Accompanying these athletes come the world’s greatest coaches, and today, unparalleled media coverage, which our sport has earned.

On June 17, 2000, Charlotte Grand Prix fans witnessed a new World Record in the 200 Butterfly set by Tom Malchow (Club Wolverine) at 1:55.18; a record that currently stands as the Meet Record at The Charlotte Grand Prix.

Charlotte has not only been host of this premier event, but is the proud home of Olympians and USA Swimming National Team Members, too! Ricky Berens, Cullen Jones, Davis Tarwater, Kara Lynn Joyce, Micah Lawrence, Nick Thoman, Mark Gangloff, Jeremy Knowles, Melvin Stewart, and Jilen Siroky have all proudly represented their country in the Olympics.

Mayor PatOver the years, the sport of swimming has achieved a new level of visibility, especially since the 2008 Beijing Olympics, with a growing enthusiastic fan base. With this growth and the notoriety of its athletes the USA Swimming Grand Prix Series of competitions, once thought of as mere swim meets, have become true Sporting Events, and SwimMAC is proud to be home to one of the longest standing Grand Prix Meets, The SwimMAC Charlotte Grand Prix.

USA Swimming has announced meets in the Arena Pro Swim Series and the Charlotte meet will retain it’s mid-May place in the newly renovated Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center
